Rasoul Akrami & MANDO Jewelry Design - Where metal becomes memory, and jewelry becomes a philosophical language

At Maralkunst, we are always drawn to artists who do more than decorate the body — artists who tell stories, ask questions, and invite reflection.

One of those voices is Rasoul Akrami, founder and designer behind MANDO Jewelry Design.

Based in Qazvin, Iran, Rasoul Akrami is a contemporary jewelry designer and maker with over a decade of experience, blending Iranian cultural heritage, mysticism, and philosophy with contemporary metal art. His work lives at the intersection of jewelry, sculpture, and concept-driven art.

Jewelry as a language of thought

MANDO is not a trend-based brand.

It is a conceptual universe, where every collection is rooted in history, symbolism, and inner transformation.

Rasoul’s background in Islamic Art and metalwork, combined with techniques such as enameling, engraving, wax carving, and etching, allows him to create pieces that feel timeless yet deeply personal. Each object is designed to be worn — but also contemplated.

The Collections

The Mask Collection

Inspired by Safavid-era war masks and Qajar imagery, this collection explores the idea that humans often carry mental and emotional masks.

The crowned mask pendants reference ritual symbols and mourning traditions, while other designs echo veils worn in southern Iran.

These pieces ask a quiet but powerful question:

What must we uncover within ourselves to become whole?

The Imagination Collection

Rooted in Sufi philosophy, this collection views imagination as a bird that travels between realms — Lahut (divinity), Jabarut (power), Malakut (kingdom), and Nasut (humanity).

The jewelry becomes a passage between worlds, reflecting the soul’s search for truth.

The Mirror Collection

Mirrors are used as both material and metaphor.

Light reflected in the mirror detaches the viewer from past and future, pulling them into the present moment.

When the mirror becomes cloudy, it reminds us that the heart, too, needs polishing.

Hidden images behind the mirror reveal themselves only through care, patience, and attention — just like love.

The Passage Collection

This collection speaks directly to transformation.

Passage here is not physical, but spiritual: moving from ignorance to knowledge, from darkness to light.

The pieces reflect the inner journey of crossing fears, doubts, and worldly attachments to arrive at awareness and truth.

Lovers

Inspired by classical Persian love stories such as Leyli & Majnun and Bijan & Manijeh, this collection translates love into symbols.

Miniature icons, Persian letters, faces, hearts, and arrows come together like a poetic puzzle.

Two abstract profiles — one male, one female — gaze into each other, joined by a crimson heart.

Silence speaks. The soul surrenders.

Beyond jewelry: an artistic practice

Rasoul Akrami’s practice extends beyond wearable art.

He has participated in group and solo exhibitions, created metal sculptures for public spaces across Iran, and has been recognized in national jewelry design competitions.

His work often moves fluidly between object, performance, and installation.

Why Maralkunst chose MANDO

At Maralkunst, we believe in wearable stories.

MANDO Jewelry Design aligns deeply with our mission to showcase artists who create with meaning, integrity, and cultural depth — artists whose work carries history in its form and emotion in its weight.

These are not accessories.

They are objects of reflection.
