A Swiss Mother & Daughter, A Necklace with a Story – Inside My Jewelry Workshop in Oslo
When people ask me what makes my jewelry workshops so unique, I always smile and say:
“Because here, you don’t just make jewelry—you create a wearable memory.”
This is the story of a beautiful mother and daughter who traveled from Switzerland to Oslo and joined my 3-hour jewelry experience. They had booked it five months in advance through GetYourGuide, a wonderful platform that connects travelers with authentic local experiences around the world. This time, it brought them to the heart of Norway—to Maralkunst.

A Treasure Trove of Meaningful Materials
Inside my workshop, you’ll find more than pliers and chains. There are beads from Iran, old Norwegian coins, vintage charms, semi-precious stones, and even leftover elements from my very first Maralkunst pieces. I never throw anything away because I believe every material is just waiting for the right person to bring it to life again. That’s sustainability with a soul.
A Mother’s Creation Inspired by Heritage
The mother was immediately drawn to a set of ceramic rose beads—delicate and hand-painted, brought from Iran many years ago. She gently placed a 1- and 5-kroner Norwegian coin on the table and said:
“I’d love to include these in the necklace somehow.”
That was the beginning of her creation.
I don’t give pre-made templates in my workshops. Instead, I guide each person to explore their own style, combine materials that speak to them, and bring their imagination to life. And with just a few suggestions from me, she designed something truly one-of-a-kind.
The result?
A stunning necklace—filled with story, memory, and intention.
She didn’t stop there. She made a pearl bracelet and a chain ring with a Fatima hand, and I suggested adding a small clasp so she could separate the bracelet and ring when needed. It became a thoughtful, symbolic piece that could adapt with her mood.

And Then Came Her Daughter’s Turn…
The second necklace you see in the photos—elegant, modern, and playful—was created by her daughter.
She mixed black chain, upcycled earring parts, pearls, and metal charms to design a completely different piece—more contemporary, stylish, and uniquely hers. Watching them work side by side, exchanging ideas, tools, and laughter, was a joy in itself.

This Is What I Love About My Private Workshops
More than the jewelry, more than the creativity—what I cherish most is what happens between people in my studio.
It could be two best friends, a couple making pieces for each other, or like this time—a mother and daughter sharing quality time and love through art.
Sometimes, it’s even a surprise gift—a friend bringing someone special to bond, create, and make memories they’ll never forget.
Because that’s what this experience really is:
✨ A celebration of connection
✨ A moment to pause and create something real
✨ A story that you can wear, and never forget
