Maralkunst Custom Gold & Gemstone Ring Guarantee & Care

Wear Your Story — With Care

A Maralkunst custom ring is created around more than precious materials.

It begins with your story.

Your relationship, memories, symbolism, personality and intentions guide the design, while the gold, diamond or gemstone gives that story a physical form.

Because every custom piece is individually created, we want you to understand both how your ring should be cared for and what Maralkunst stands behind after delivery.

The 12-Month Maralkunst Craftsmanship Guarantee

Maralkunst stands behind the craftsmanship of our custom-made rings.

Your custom gold and gemstone ring is covered by the Maralkunst 12-Month Craftsmanship Guarantee from the date of delivery against confirmed manufacturing or craftsmanship defects.

If you experience a problem during this period, please contact Maralkunst before allowing another jeweler or workshop to repair, resize or alter the ring.

We will assess the issue and determine the appropriate solution

When an issue is confirmed to originate from the original manufacturing or craftsmanship, Maralkunst will coordinate and cover the necessary repair during the 12-month guarantee period.

What Does the Maralkunst Guarantee Cover?

The commercial guarantee is intended for genuine manufacturing or craftsmanship faults.

Examples may include:

• a structural manufacturing fault

• a setting or component that was incorrectly made

• a workmanship defect present in the original ring

• another confirmed production-related problem

Every case is assessed individually because custom rings differ in design, construction, stones and how they are worn.

What Is Not a Manufacturing Defect?

Fine jewelry changes through wear.

Gold is a precious metal, but it is not indestructible. Gemstone settings and prongs are also exposed to pressure every day.

The Maralkunst craftsmanship guarantee does not automatically cover:

• normal scratches and surface marks

• normal wear of the gold

• normal wear of prongs or settings

• accidental impact or crushing

• a bent or deformed band caused by pressure

• chipped or damaged gemstones caused by impact

• loss of a gemstone following accidental damage or continued wear after the stone became loose

• chemical damage

• plating wear where a plated finish has been used

• damage caused by improper use

• damage caused by third-party resizing, repair or alteration

These are generally considered wear, maintenance or accidental damage rather than manufacturing defects.

A Loose Stone Does Not Always Mean a Defective Ring

This is especially important for engagement rings.

Diamonds and many gemstones can be extremely durable, but the gold holding the gemstone is softer than the stone itself.

Prongs can gradually wear, bend or move through daily use, pressure or accidental impact.

We recommend checking your ring regularly and having the gemstone setting professionally inspected approximately every 6–12 months, particularly when the ring is worn every day.

If you notice:

• movement or rattling

• a raised or bent prong

• the gemstone sitting differently

• a change in the shape of the setting

stop wearing the ring immediately and contact Maralkunst.

Continuing to wear a ring with a loose gemstone can turn a small maintenance issue into a lost stone.

Caring for Your Custom Gold Engagement Ring

Your ring is designed to be worn and enjoyed.

But an engagement ring is worn on one of the most active parts of your body.

To protect your gold, diamond and gemstones, we recommend removing your ring before:

• weightlifting and heavy exercise

• gardening and manual work

• carrying or moving heavy objects

• cleaning with household chemicals

• swimming

• activities involving strong pressure or impact

• situations where the ring could become caught

For some gemstones and finishes, we may provide additional care instructions specific to your ring.

Every Maralkunst custom-ring client receives care information according to the materials and stones used in their piece.

Diamonds, Moissanite & Colored Gemstones

Maralkunst custom rings may include natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, moissanite, natural gemstones, lab-grown gemstones, sapphires, spinel and other selected stones.

Not all gemstones behave in exactly the same way.

Some tolerate everyday wear extremely well, while others require more thoughtful handling.

When your custom ring is delivered, we will explain any special care requirements relating to your particular gemstone.

This is part of our philosophy:

we do not simply create a ring — we want you to understand the piece you are wearing.

10K, 14K & 18K Gold

Maralkunst custom rings may be created in 10K, 14K or 18K solid gold, depending on the project and client request.

Different gold alloys have different characteristics.

Higher gold purity does not automatically mean that the ring is stronger.

Gold can scratch, develop surface marks and gradually change through daily use.

These changes are part of wearing fine jewelry and should be distinguished from manufacturing defects.

Where a special surface treatment or plating is used, the client will be informed because surface finishes can also require maintenance over time.

After the First 12 Months

Our relationship with you does not end when the Maralkunst commercial guarantee ends.

After the first 12 months, you are still welcome to contact us for:

assessment, maintenance guidance, repair coordination, gemstone-setting checks, polishing or other appropriate services whenever possible.

If the service relates to normal wear or maintenance, applicable costs will be discussed with you before any work is approved.

Norwegian Consumer Rights

The Maralkunst 12-Month Craftsmanship Guarantee is an additional commercial guarantee.

It does not replace or reduce rights that may apply under the Norwegian Consumer Purchases Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven).

The statutory complaint period may be up to five years for products intended to last substantially longer than two years.

This does not mean five years of free repairs or maintenance.

Statutory rights apply when an issue legally qualifies as a defect. Normal wear, maintenance, accidental damage, misuse and similar circumstances are not automatically covered simply because they occur within the statutory complaint period.

This distinction is important both for the customer and for Maralkunst.

Norwegian rules also require commercial guarantee terms to explain the relationship between the guarantee and statutory complaint rights when the statutory period is longer.

Before Having Your Ring Repaired Elsewhere

Because every Maralkunst custom ring is individually created, please contact us before allowing another jeweler to resize, reset, repair or structurally alter your ring.

Third-party work can change the original construction of the piece and can also make it difficult to determine the cause of a later problem.

Damage caused by third-party work is not covered by the Maralkunst commercial craftsmanship guarantee.

This does not remove any statutory rights that may otherwise apply under Norwegian law.

How to Request a Maralkunst Assessment

If you notice a problem:

Stop wearing the ring if a gemstone is loose or the setting appears damaged.

Then contact Maralkunst with:

your name, order information, a short description of the issue and clear photographs or video where possible.

We will guide you through the next step.
